Halloween 2009 (updated)

November 1st, 2009

037 We had two spooky ghosts for Halloween this year. When people would ask Helaman if he was going to be a cute ghost or a scary ghost, he always said scary. We actually thought they ended up looking pretty creepy. They are making there serious/scary ghost faces in this picture.

Our ward does trunk or treat on the night before Halloween for some dumb reason(s). So we got to dress up twice this year. Isaiah was sleeping when I dyed my hair black and put on the black lipstick and eye make up on Friday and he was scared and wouldn’t come near me when we woke up. So dad had to get him ready and put his make up on. Once he was all painted I guess he realized it was fake, and we were friends again.

There was a little carnival inside the church before the trunk or treat, and the boys had fun trying out the games. They never could get a ball to land in the glasses, but they did great on the other ones. Well, Isaiah cheated at the others, but he still had fun and got prizes. :)

The next day we had a very tired 8 a.m. soccer game, and then our end of the season soccer party at the part at lunch time. Then we went trick or treating again with some friends and had lots of fun. Isaiah was still dragging through it all, but Helaman couldn’t have been any happier, tired or not. A lot of people in Ridgecrest do some really fun stuff for Halloween, and we had a great time checking it all out and getting lots of yummy candy.

We hadn’t had time to get dinner before we went trick or treating, so we ended up at Taco Bell late that night with lots of other people having a late dinner. The boys were really good, even so tired, and entertained the people around us by being their cute selves. We’re all tired today, but it was a great Halloween.

*As requested I’ve added a better witch picture (thanks Khiana) and another cute one she sent me of Helaman eating the donut.

Happy Halloween!

Goings Ons

It’s been an exciting week or so. We went to Gridley for Halloween and had lots of fun seeing all of our family. It was a fast trip, and we didn’t get to see everyone we wanted to… but it was still fun. Helaman was a little sad to come back and kept telling us he wanted to live in Gridley forever. But, I think he’s okay because today he told me he wanted to live here forever. Fickle kid! :)

Here’s the pictures from some of our latest adventures, Halloween with the cousins, preschool, cold days, and playing at the park with some friends this morning.

Halloween now and then…

Helaman had his Halloween party and parade at preschool today. He feels that it’s very important to be a pumpkin every year (and Isaiah, too) but they don’t make pumpkin costumes big enough for 4-year-olds (nor patterns for that matter). So we were all up late last night creating one. Well, Omar did the actual sewing, and he didn’t think my cutting was good enough, so he re-did that also (if you know Omar…)

Nick is here visiting from Arizona and we kept him up all night talking to us while we worked in the kitchen so he couldn’t go to bed. It was lots of fun!

We have big plans for Halloween, tambien. We’re going to Gridley! We’re leaving tomorrow after work. We’re going trick-or-treating with Omar’s cousins on Friday and we’re really excited to see them. And then just play for the weekend. Helaman is really excited. Okay, we’re all really excited.

Happy Halloween

Helaman was a BYU football player for Halloween this year. He loves football. He talks about it all the time, loves playing football, watching football on t.v. or live at the High School, and even used to pray that he was thankful for football every night when he would say his prayers. If you ask him how to play football he will say “Go, go, BOOM!”

We went to trunk-er-treat at the church this year. It took Helaman a little while to figure out what was going on, but once he realized if he held his bucket up people would put candy in it, he was very into it.

Halloween

Helaman had a lot of fun on Halloween. We visited all the grandmas and grandpas then went trick-or-treating in Uncle Jesse’s neighborhood with all the cousins. Helaman got a ton of candy, which mommy and daddy are really enjoying. :)

Helaman was a space man for Halloween this year. The costume was one Grandma Maggie made for Uncle Mike when he was a baby. Mommy’s favorite part was the spiked hair…

Here’s a picture of the whole costume on our front porch with daddy.
