First Tithing
Helaman paid his first tithing this Sunday. Grandma Elsa gave him $6.00 so we got 60¢ out of his bank and Sunday morning he put it in, licked the envelope and wrote his H on the outside. We hurried to get to church on time (why is that such a challenge?) and he went up onto the stand to give it to the bishop and shake hands. He was so excited to take the money “to Heavenly Father.” I was so proud of him.
The week before we had to run back to church because I had forgotten to bring our tithing and fast offering. He was really mad because he wanted to get to Grandma Elsa’s house. He said he didn’t care if people had enough to eat (my explanation of fast offering). On Sunday, he said, “Now I want everyone to have enough food!” He was so proud of himself for caring, and I was too.
